Feeling festive yet?

Tripod, my three legged cat is pretty laid back for an intact tom cat. In fact, he's almost too laid back, liking to be held several times a day, lying on his back in my arms. At that point, he is oblivious to the rest of the world and you can do pretty much what you like to him and he accepts it.

The Santa hat was too close by and here is the result of the encounter. There is a certain mix of apprehension, resignation and disgust on his face. What a cat won't do for a tin of whitefish and tuna...

Now this is too cute. Isn't this the cat that wouldn't get too close to you for quite a while? Now you are dressing him up. You definitely have a way with animals. Merry Christmas Jeanette

It is the same cat Robin. His need for affection over rides his dignity. Chuckle.

Merry Christmas Robin.

Jeanette, love the cat! we have one we rescued and he wouldn't even set on the same sofa with us. now we call him the 'Lap Monster'. *lol* i don't think he'd tolerate the Santa hat but i could try. beautiful job on the portrait!

Thanks Billie. The cat's a total love machine now. I think he's making up for lost time. He was out in the woods for at least two years that I know of.

Now he's just a fat boy who loves to lie in front of the fire like a dog.

He knows what it is like to have nothing and be cold. Makes him appreciate the comfort. I love the picture.

How did you do the red part of the hat to get that texture?

Jeanette Jobson said...

Jeanne, that was simply the texture of the paper and the watercolour pencil that I used. I slowly filled in the colour with a smallish circular motion. The paper is Canson sketchbook universal recycled 11 x 14

The image started life as a quick sketch and evolved. Of course, as with all things, you wish then you'd put it on some better paper. C'est la vie!

He'll be writing a blog about life of love and lolling around with these cute humans he's found before you know it!
