Snowy lane

I feel like a shell today.  Its as if all creativity has suddenly been sucked out of me, leaving me dry.  I did a little flurry of snowmen this weekend, but sat in the studio tonight piddling around achieving nothing, with nothing inspiring me. Its as if I'm waiting like a schoolchild for a teacher to come along and tell me what I should paint next.  I'm sure it will pass, as it always does.  There are ideas in my head but they're taking their time coming out onto paper or canvas.

Meanwhile, this little painting was completed a couple of days ago just 5 x 7 in acrylic. There is not a flake of snow around this year with nothing but rain and wind forecast up to Christmas.  This will be the closest I get to snow for now.  The blueness of shadows on snow always amaze me.  Its rather like water in terms of reflecting the sky.

Wonderful painting - it does look a lot like Boone about now. We are having the opposite kinda weather - this lady asked the local weather guru the other day what our chances of a green Christmas were! (you guessed it)...

I'm sure the ideas will come flooding back; it's a tiring time of year and our minds are full of other things.

I hope the rain stops soon. No sign of snow here either :D

Happy Christmas

Have a wonderful Christmas-I hope the muse comes back very soon. I think she's over here in the UK along with the ridiculous snowy weather we are getting!

Yes you guys have gotten a taste of winter early. Snow scenes are appealing but the novelty of functioning in and around snow is a different story.

Thanks Lara, Merry Christmas.

Seasons, lunar eclipses, I'm sure they all play a part in how we feel. As for the snow, in some ways it would be better than the torrential rain and wind we're currently having.

Thanks for offering to share Pat. :)

You're right Sue. No sign of stopping rain anytime soon. Its a huge system coming in now, lasting til Christmas Day it seems. Lifejackets and boats may be the order of the day!

Yeah, I figured you might not have snow...lol

Judith, Merry Christmas. The weather is all over the place this year. I think you guys have ours!

Paula, thank you for taking time to comment. Merry Christmas.

Lovely snowy painting from memory.

Best wishes for the return of 'the muse' and for 2011.

Didn't necessarily mean to be 'anonymous', but not sure how to fulfil the requirements for posting comments on your blog!
