Revealing - update

I've done a little more work on this clementine.  Its a fine line to keep the light in the fruit and make it believable.  Citrus has such a high water content, light shining through it is almost the same as water, making it translucent and reflect colours.

This image was taken earlier this afternoon and I've added more detail to the piece since.  However, I find it really difficult, even with good lighting to get true colours of this painting.  Some colours just don't seem to photograph well under certain light conditions.

This afternoon the symptoms of a cold suddenly arrived out of the blue.  I hope it moves past quickly, as colds can sometimes knock the desire to paint right out of me.

Hi Jeanette,
Think positive, drink lots--Bourbon, Scotch or any decent red wine, stay warm and rest.
Other than a cold, how was your St. Patrick's Day? I'm guessing it was restful and quiet.
Oh, by the way, maybe you should consume that clementine for it's health benefits!
Best of luck fighting that cold and if it wins, get well soon. Without your blog posts what do any of us have to live for?
Sincerely,
Gary.

The moment I saw your post I wanted a tangerine! What an amazing painting. Will it be for sale?

Thanks for the advice Nurse Gary. I'm sure I'll live, just this very moment in time, it doesn't feel like it, but a few good drugs will stop that!

I'm a non-St. Patrick's Day person. Between that and St. George's Day, they're something and nothing. A holiday here if you're in a unionized job and a lot of drinking by some.

Without my blog posts the world would turn merrily on without a stumble. Thank heavens.

Tam, thank you. Tangerines, clementines, oranges, they all have a similar effect on the 'want it' part of me too. :)

It will be for sale when finished, provided I don't screw it up!

Hi Jeanette hope the cold hasn't got a grip. I like Gary's natural remedies - scotch, red wine, the clementine :)

Fabulous painting.

Steinunn, thank you. The cold will past in a few days I'm sure.

Hi Sue, yes it does have a grip and I don't feel great today, but some drugs help and an early night tonight too I hope.

Thanks Jennifer. I hate having a cold, its so blahhhhh, but I shouldn't complain, life could be worse.

The light in these fruit is great I love painting them.
