I love drawing from life and wish I could do it more often. Its so different than using a photographic reference. A couple of the sketches had me itching to paint them instead. Perhaps I'll bring some colour to the next session.

I really like all three that you did Very expressive. The lady's eyes are great.
ReplyDeleteThree terrific portraits, Jeanette. Do you think all your self-portraits have contributed to your ability to sketch someone so confidently from life? You should be very pleased the life model didn't turn up. This is a great evening's work.

ReplyDeleteRobyn, I draw portraits a lot so that combined with those never ending self portraits help me put down on paper what I see.
It really is good to work from life Anita. I so look forward to times when I can access it, and that isn't that often in this town. Well there are two other regular life classes but they're on weekday mornings! They might figure it out if I call in sick twice a week :)
Thank you Teresa! Its great to wander round after a session seeing what everyone else has done, the different styles and interpretations.
You can get so much detail into a short half hour session! These all look like more than quickie sketches!
