I wish my brain would settle down to one thing! :)Jeanette Jobsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08935974758134419990noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20414780.post-69206777692528405052013-06-02T12:02:57.521-02:302013-06-02T12:02:57.521-02:30At first I thought this was colored pencil. All those little shapes satisfy the detail freak in me and just have to come out sometimes. :)

Katherine, we can offer so much information in a painting just through brushstrokes, can't we? Lost and found edges seem to dictate their presence without a lot of studied intervention at times, but its good to think about what brings an object into focus and why sometimes.

That's just what I was looking for Jen. I wanted to see if I could create that mix of both light and dark in the piece to provide mood.Jeanette Jobsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08935974758134419990noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20414780.post-81062950891253678132013-05-31T18:46:25.181-02:302013-05-31T18:46:25.181-02:30simple subject, but it has a very dark and moody f...simple subject, but it has a very dark and moody feeling :)Jennifer Rosehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06528908250338974537noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20414780.post-47406139228652710672013-05-30T22:22:20.715-02:302013-05-30T22:22:20.715-02:30That is so good, and so informative! I haven't mastered the idea of lost edges yet, I have to force myself to really look hard at my piece and decide which edges are a distraction because they are too crisp. You demonstrate so beautifully just where and when to do that!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05600673251180423439noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20414780.post-92176379556019893652013-05-30T21:52:48.518-02:302013-05-30T21:52:48.518-02:30Very well done, Jeanette...as usual:-) Your lighti...Very well done, Jeanette...as usual:-) Your lighting and the way you treated the background adds a certain majesty to this glass marble...it could be a huge object in space.
