I'm looking forward to the work for this project.

Its great to get a grant Jane, thank you.

The number of prints I can get with one fish vary with the type of fish, its freshness and how well I've prepared it. I usually get 5 - 10 prints from one fish, perhaps more, before it starts to decline both in printability and smell! :)Jeanette Jobsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08935974758134419990noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20414780.post-73150122111328084152010-05-29T04:41:06.104-02:302010-05-29T04:41:06.104-02:30congratulations on the grant jeanette ..all the b...congratulations on the grant jeanette ..all the best with your research ..how many prints can you get from one fish ?JANE MINTERhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12753128396478756721noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20414780.post-89988441606804296412010-05-26T06:27:39.579-02:302010-05-26T06:27:39.579-02:30Well done on securing the grant Jeanette - the fis...Well done on securing the grant Jeanette - the fish look absolutely amazing and the technique fascinating - can't wait to see the final work at the end of the year.Tracy Hallhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02618327920955524004noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20414780.post-12497830985598227622010-05-25T09:13:48.105-02:302010-05-25T09:13:48.105-02:30Its really fascinating to do Lori and the results ...Its really fascinating to do Lori and the results always amaze me as each print is different from the last.

Thanks Elizabeth. I've worked on gyotaku off and on for the past year or so and am hooked. This project allows me to really get into it and explore all elements and use lots of different supports and techniques.

Aren't the gill plates on this fish amazing Jennifer? Its a pretty bony fish with spiky fins that you don't want to poke yourself on.

I should have a great record of local fish at the end of the project.Jeanette Jobsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08935974758134419990noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20414780.post-33353588332038115632010-05-25T06:10:40.292-02:302010-05-25T06:10:40.292-02:30they way the gill looks printed is very cool, look...they way the gill looks printed is very cool, looks almost carved.
