New look
I've played around with updating my blog's template to add a heading image and I've done so. This is a view of Flatrock bay in one of its tranquil moments. It may not be the final image, more the experiment.
Unfortunately, in doing so, I seem to have lost all my links to other blogs and everything else I had on the page. Sigh. Why is it technology never quite seems to work for me? But never fear my friends, I will find you all and reinstate you, safe and sound and perhaps even find some new people as well!
So tell me what you think of the new look? Is a photo appropriate or should I go with a drawing instead? I'm half scared to tinker more in case I lose anything else!

I like it. Did you crop the image for the heading or did the template? Very nice photo.
LOVE your header, Jeanette! i've wanted to create one for myself for awhile now. you'll have to tell me your secret. *hint hint*
one trick my son taught me...before you start tweaking your blog go to 'edit template'. it'll show all the HTML code. highlight & copy it all, open Wordpad, Notepad..whatever you prefer...and paste it there. when you save it be sure to label it with content and date. if you lose all your info you can just retrieve it from there.
I like your new look. Like Billie said, always save your HTML code so you don't lose it. Now we tell you!! I am also wanting to update my blog but I am proceeding cautiously so I will not blow it.
Billie, I got the information from Wendy Prior's blog, sweetheart that she is for sharing.
Yep, a bit too late on the saving the html code....ah well live and learn. I have reinstated some of the links, still have more to go yet.
That is really great Jeanette. You've very very nearly inspired me to have a go - it's the one last deep dark secret of blogging which I have yet to venture into!
Always save the template before doing anything big - but also remember the expand the widgets!
Well I don't even know how to save my template, so I had better not touch anything!
This photo is so appropriate Jeanette, beautiful. I can't tell you how touched I was to find you've linked to my blog. I've always been a big fan of your work so it means a lot. :)
Oh do have a go Katherine, it makes the blog stand out and I guess you can change it whenever you want once its in place.
Technology and I aren't great bedfellows I'm afraid. I just use it and cross my fingers. :)
Robyn, its always a pleasure to see your work and hear about your life in Italy. I'm glad you like the photo, it really does give a taste of life in Newfoundland.
I love the new look. We have all been talking about doing just this, so guess what Jeanette, you will be offering a tutorial I hope. Now you will need to have a seasonal change.
Beautiful view!
Thanks Robyn, but I think Wendy Prior is the genius to thank for the explanation of how to do this. Her blog is listed on mine so go visit and say I sent you! :)
Yes, it could reflect seasons if I could get the same view for each one perhaps. I'm still toying with the concept of a drawing perhaps. I'll experiment and see what comes of it.
