Capelin Whispers
18 x 22 watercolour
They each have their own character built into their little faces and provide me with endless inspiration for more paintings and drawings that I could ever have time to produce.
This watercolour is complete and measures about 18 x 22 on 200lb paper which I love. I spent ages arranging capelin for this piece until I hit on something that spoke to me. I originally had them all facing forward, but preferred the rebel in the group going the other way and the middle two seemed to be 'whispering' about him. Hence the name of the piece.
Now onto another piece that is on the easel. What else? A fish!

Wonderful watercolor painting, Jeanette. I love how you've given them a bit of personality, too. Be careful or you'll wander into the land of whimsy with your capelin. Of course there's nothing wrong with that!

the middle fish do look like they are whispering, but also like it is looking right at the viewer. very nice piece :) I would have such a hard time eating fish after painting them so much, might feel a little guilty lol

How to say it differently Jeanette, I like these small fishes. If I had it in Brittany, I believe that I shall also be in love with them. This watercolor is adorable and I like this idea of the first one which decided to show its fin rather than the eyes. It was doubtless a rebel fish!Bises.

Boy, those colors really communicate the 'shimmeriness' (is that a word?). And the composition including those soft cast shadows was worth the wait.
(Oh, I've been away for a bit and maybe I missed it when you put them up, but I adore feeding your fish, too!)

Rebel indeed Olivia. Even though I have lots of these little fish, I envy you the range of fish that you can access.

Feeding the fish is such fun isn't it? Its like my own little fish pond. :)
