Viewpoint

There is something about eyes that has always appealing to me in terms of drawing or painting.  Capturing the light and shadow that makes up the eye and breathes life into it is fascinating.

I have been using a long thin canvas - 4 x 12 - I've been using my own eyes as reference to see where I get in oils.

The day was flipping between sun and cloud and showers, but I wanted to capture some of the colours in the trees before a storm whips them away.  I wandered down the lane and through the meadow to find these gems.

It's looking good Jeanette - this is a very intriguing piece. I think you should make those eyes your logo! :D

You are coming along in the oils, definitely.

Windows to the soul. (and yours are so expressive!)

I like the way you've used these narrow canvases.

Thanks Rose. Oils aren't my comfort zone, but I enjoy using them.

I love painting or drawing eyes Tracy. They never lose their appeal.

Jean, these long canvasses are my current favourite for some reason and fit eyescapes quite well.

I like both of these - interesting format sizes. My favorite is the unfinished part of the top one and that splotch of violet at the temple that almost mimics the eye color = beautiful!
