The opening went off seamlessly yesterday, with great food, wine and people wandering through the exhibition all afternoon. I was the photographer and spent my time mingling and alternating with taking photos as unobtrusively as I could. A task to delegate to another for the next show!
Many thanks to all who came to the opening, friends old and new. Thanks too to Spirit of Newfoundland for hosting the event in such a beautiful location. If you didn't make it to the opening, you still have lots of time to see the work, as the exhibition runs daily until August 13th.
Now that this is in place, we can take a little while to regroup and think, but not for long as we have another exhibition coming up in early October. Time to get back to the easel again!

Looks a great venue. I hope you have a successful exhibition.
I like the way there appears to be so many rooms to wander around. Looks like a lovely place to exhibit!
That first photo needs to be a painting in the next show!
Looks great and I hope it goes well for you.
Looks like a beautiful venue; good luck with the show.
Thanks Sue, its pretty much down the gods now - and a bit of marketing to get eyeballs on paintings.
Its a great spot Niall, lots of space, you don't feel cramped.
Katherine, I don't think I could paint that scene if I tried. But stranger things have happened. Its very much the style of another artist we all know of. :)
Thank you Deb, keep your fingers crossed that there's some spare cash floating around St. John's in the next few weeks!
Enjoying these exhibition posts and wow what a venue. Congratulations on such a successful opening! Your pictures show people actually looking at the art - that is wonderful - sometimes openings can end up being more about socializing and not as much about the exhibition! :-) Best of luck with the sales!!!!
what a wonderful looking place for an exhibition :) take turns with the camera during the day? can see how other people see what is going and and what they think it worth taking a picture of :)
What a lovely exhibition space - I have my fingers crossed for you!!
Hi Jeanette,
What a beautiful venue for a painting exhibition. You've done a fine job of allowing us to "be there".
Sincerely,
Gary.
