Floral Tea

Floral Tea - SOLD
6" x 8" oil on panel

The forecast for Valentine's Day is a blizzard and a lot of snow.  I'm sure that will put the damper on those restaurant dinners that may be planned and perhaps dining at home will be in order, provided you remember to get the supplies at the stores.  And if the power stays on.  However, love always finds a way, storm or no storm.

While I'm not a fan of Valentine's Day and have zero expectation, it tends to pass by unnoticed for the most part for me.  But when there's a chance to put some seasonal red in a painting that just may be the token of affection for someone in your life (or perhaps self appreciation) I'm all for it, especially in the depths of winter when we need all the encouragement we can muster that spring isn't too far away.

Happy Valentine's Day!

I'm one of those people that say ba humbug to valentines day. not because it lovey dovey, its because having everyone celebrate on the same day to me doesnt make it special. celebrate when ever you want,

very pretty painting tho :) nice to see such gorgeous red :D

Hi Jeanette,
I'd say "Aloha", but you're probably not in the mood to hear it with a blizzard on the way.
Great painting, as usual, but what I really want to say is, will you be my Valentine? I know, I know, we're both married, but I think you still deserve to feel special on this special day. So, that's that!
Big Hugs and Aloha,
Gary

Jen, I don't see Valentine's Day as a real "holiday" though I'm sure the business community benefits from it in spades. It slides past me without much thought to be honest. But if showered with gifts and chocolates, I likely wouldn't say no. :)

Christiane, thank you. We need a shot of spring in the depths of winter in Canada. The cold and snow have gone on long enough now, I'd like some warmth please.

I hope all is well with you.

Gary, we're in back to back blizzards today and overnight/tomorrow. Yuck. Aloha is a welcome word, as it makes me thing of warmth and sunshine and beaches.

I'm happy to be your Valentine. Its the best offer I've had all day! :) Thank you for asking. I'll send a virtual snowball instead of chocolates. I know, I have eclectic taste in gifts. lol

I know you're enjoying life and the warmth of the islands. May it be even better today.

Beautiful painting with just the right amount of red :). Yes, Valentine's can be such a pain to those who don't have someone who goes overboard about it (luckily, I have a Sweetie who does just that with all the bells and whistles, but we never eat out for a day like Valentine's Day and prefer to stay in). Of course, with the blizzard and everyone shut inside with just candles to light their way, there may be more babies born 9 months from now :) but I hope they don't name them all Valentine :) ha ha. Take care, stay warm and safe and keep creating beautiful things (this, my friend, is a Valentine to us all from you!).

Rhonda, I haven't taken Valentine's Day seriously since Grade 2 most likely. Its just a made up day that suits business and has little to do with romance. But I do understand that some take it very seriously and go all out. Perhaps I'm just a cynic in my old age.

Luckily the power stayed on, so no surge of babies in the fall. lol

Glad you enjoyed the painting.
