Its done.

I finally finished the last few pages of this little Moleskine for the sketchbook project. Am I happy with the contents? No. I didn't plan it well enough and could have done much better. There are some pieces in it that are fine, some are disasters, but I guess they're all art in one form or another.

Eclectic. That's one word for it.

About the only part that I am happy with are the covers. And they were done on a whim.

Ok, whinging over.

Here are a few samples of the contents of the sketchbook. There are a variety of mediums from marker to watercolour to pen & ink. I'll pop it in the mail tomorrow or the next day and let it go do its thing.

Would I participate again in a sketchbook project? Yes. But I would be better prepared. I felt rushed in this as the sketchbook didn't turn up til late, so the contents were hurried and I felt pressured to put something, anything on paper.

Will I put it up for sale? I still haven't decided yet. I don't know if I can get it back or not as I don't know if I can provide a SSAE with US postage on it originating in Canada. I'll check on that at the post office when I send it. Either way, its an experience.

Congratulations on finishing. It looks interesting and you do beautiful sketches. They will be pleased.

I've heard from others that they felt rushed in the project, maybe you will get to start earlier, next time. Hope you get it back if you don't decide to sell. You should be able to have a return envelope. Hmmm.

I am sure it is a great sketchbook. I am not sure I understand the project, but you all seem to be having fun doing them.

Jeanette, well done for finishing and I'm sure that your sketches are better than you imagine them to be. It is fascinating to look through someone else's sketchbook. It really is - particularly if all the works are not entirely up to polished standard. You share a piece of yourself in that book, you should be proud of it!

I don't suppose there is time for me to send you some postage from the US?

Sorry, didn't complete my thought there...I'd be happy to send you some postage in an envelope if there is time.

Thanks Jo. Yes, perhaps a project would have a longer lead in time in future. Or else I'm just very slow! :)

Robin, this a sketchbook project coordinated by Art House in Atlanta. If you google sketchbook project you should find it.

I guess I have some perfectionist qualities Rose. But as we all know, not every page will be a winner so I need to accept that.

Its so kind of you to offer to send US postage, but I think time isn't on my side right now. I need to send this off this weekend or early next week at the latest. There may be some solution from the post office. If not, I'm not too concerned as I have images of the contents.

You did it! And beautiful sketches are in it. We now wait and see how they do in their travels.
Mine left on Tuesday.

Oh this is gorgeous! I wish I had seen this project earlier so I could sign up for it. I knew there just wasn't going to be enough time though.

So glad you were able to finish it, Jeanette, and I'm sure everything in it is wonderful! Sketchbooks aren't meant to be finished work but your sketches are always so much more than sketches anyway.

Please pop by my blog as I have something for you.

Congratulations on getting this project finished. Thanks for sharing some of the images, your sketches are terrific. Oh, and I really like the addition of the pastel to the Breakers piece. Very nice!

Peggy, I hope it makes it there in time. I wish I could see them all in person.

Anita, I'm sure they'll have another project next year. Meanwhile, there's nothing to stop us doing one ourselves.

It took a bit of effort Sheona, but I got there!

That's very true Jan. I need to stop looking for perfection in everything I do.

I'll be right over to have a look!

Thanks Teresa. I keep adding bits to the book but it will soon be on its way. Tomorrow I hope!

I mailed mine off today. I too was struggling in the end. The pages just seemed endless.

I bet this is a lot better than you think, Jeanette. The covers are gorgeous and from what I've seen of the content it is full of character and a great variety of media. Just what people love about looking through sketchbooks.
