Clementine # 3
graphite 8 x 10

I don't know why I drew yet another version of this clementine. I guess I'm just testing to see how different mediums look on the same subject. I'm sure I could go on to many other mediums but think I'll stop at these three.

My scanner seems to make horrible scans lately or perhaps its my tweaking ability. I prefer a photo of it, but that need to wait til daylight.

After doing so much painting for the last month, it feels good to go back to drawing again. I love the ability to create finer detail with pencil and the portability that goes with it. This little drawing came to work with me and I worked on it at lunch then finished it off tonight.

Now onto my next project!

I too enjoy when I do graphite. I like the orange done in graphite.

How are you doing on your Moleskine Project Book?

Hey, I am away from my computer for a couple of days and look what you get up to...love the lino cut...seems like you are inspiring lots of folks to get working in this medium! The Printmaking Bible sounds yummy. Great job on the portrait study of Rose. I love how it turned out on the toned paper. And finally, great job on the clementines, version three. But no version four in coloured pencil? :-) Just kidding! After three versions I think I would be off to my next project too!

Beautiful! This has been a wonderful reference photo, Jeanette. I love seeing what everyone has made of it.

Thanks Steve. I think I'm getting like you now - no more oranges!!

Awww, thanks Jo. You should have a go at this one too. Its great fun to draw.

I'm on a production roll right now Teresa. I may come to a grinding halt any day, but am taking advantage of the energy while its there.

I did consider a cp version of this piece, but need a little break from it right now. Its still on the cards however. Then again, perhaps you, Queen of CP may like to try it one of these days. :)

The variety of techniques and renditions is amazing isn't it Robyn? So when is your version going to be ready??

Jeanette - you have certainly got this tangerine under control. Not sure which is my favourite!
I am feeling a need for some monochrome graphite or charcoal in my life too - but then again some brilliant colour .............. hmmmmm decisions decisions!

Jeanette, all three of your entries are lovely, but there is something about you and graphite. The details you captured here make this one a winner for me. I'd be interested in hearing more about what it was like to do three works of art from one reference.
