Landwash

This is the completed piece that I've been working on for a couple of weeks. I've added some glazes of colour in areas of water and foreground to bring interest to what is a rather monotone surface otherwise. This will sit for a few days before any final adjustments, then its time to move on to the next water piece.
I've toyed with the idea of a website for several years and now have taken the plunge and added it to my marketing repetoire. Its taken a number of hours to add content, links, etc., but I've published it knowing there is still some tweaking to do. Websites are a work in progress and this one still has some areas for completion. The main changes that you'll see through the interconnection between blog and website are:
- I have moved larger paintings to my website and smaller ones will remain here on my blog.
- I have provided free drawing tutorials for download on the website, which were previously available for purchase on the blog.
- Purchasing of major pieces is available on the blog, but I do not have a dedicated storefront there. It is something I am considering. For now, Buy Now buttons are being used that direct users to PayPal.

Good job on the website, it looks very professional, easy to navigate, all info there. I can sympathize on the workshop change; you pick a date and hope for the best! Re: chickens - good luck! We raised them some years ago (they are not Mensa members, trust me) and mink in the barn or not, they will probably find other ways to euthanize themselves! But if they are free range, they should give you some good eggs for a while!
Thanks Deb. I wanted something that wasn't too busy and just focused on my art.
Chickens...I love having them around but there are always such challenges with keeping predators away. The foxes are lining up at the thought of them!
Jeanette, this is so lyrical...I could sit and look at it for hours, just being taken away. And your website is great = another notch in your belt and you just keep going and going with ways to promote your work and get your name out there. You amaze me with your determination and energy.
My 2¢
- move the "blog" link up to come after "home", and get rid of the interstitial page - have it go straight there.
- reduce the total number of items in the navigation; anything past 7 or 8 is generally considered too many.
Love the painting - you really nailed it.
Great job on the website. No complaints or suggestions from me. Smart to list prices as well. You have a wonderful body of work that's most enjoyable to browse through.
The painting is beautiful. You have a love of the ocean and it shows in your work.
The web site is very nice and clean and showcases your art well. But it needs the header with your name on every page. Anybody who will enter your site through a page other then home will not know where they arrived and whose art/info they are looking at. That's confusing.
Landwash looks wonderful. You have a real talent for creating movement in the water.
Rhonda, thanks. Water does have an appeal and this wave in particular from a nearby cove. Water does tend to be hypnotizing doesn't it?
Steve, good idea about the blog link. I've made that change. To be honest, I wanted to link directly, but couldn't figure out how to. It was more obvious than I realized...
I'm not sure what pages I can combine to reduce numbers. I don't want pages to roll on forever. Or perhaps I'm just being lazy about adding more offshoot pages from within a page. :) I'll have to tinker more with it. I'm a website learner driver! :) Glad you like the painting.

I've just tweaked the site again Tracy to make it more visually appealing and coordinate the links better.
I really wanted that contrast to come across and create 'water' in this piece. I'm glad you think it did.
