I still have the apple challenge in the back of my head and ideas are swirling around. This afternoon, I tried this quick one. Its a macro view of an apple that turns into an almost abstract this close up.
This in in oils on an 8 x 8 inch canvas panel.

I love the colours in this :D You can tell its an apple, but it is very abstract and simple. Works really well
I'm glad you like it Rose. It was a spur of the moment thing which often the best pieces come from. I find that if I think about things too much they won't work. I need to let them find me.
Its so bright and warm isn't Jennifer? Perhaps a green version would be a good companion piece. I like the kind of abstract feel to it as well.

I love this! The push out of the picture plane and into the viewer's space reminds me of the Georgia O'Keeffe paintings I saw in the Lifetime movie last night. This is simple and yet has a jauntiness, a strength, an unexpected thrust forward one doesn't think of when thinking of the lowly little apple :)
